People used to tell me that as I got older I would get more conservative. But actually I have just got angrier.
I object.
I object to liars, bigots, charlatans, exploiters; I object to cruelty dressed up as policy. I object to expedience pedalled as truth to keep the morally weak in power. I object to millionaires telling us we must tighten our belts. I object to superficiality presented as reality. I object to climate deniers; I object to flag-flying morons who who mistake nationalism for patriotism.
These poems and writings are my attempt to put a voice to my objection.
I am woke.
I am angry.
I dissent.
